Advice on creating a suturing simulation
I am in the process of creating a suturing simulation where I am to use a Virtuose 6D Desktop as the haptic device.
I am finding it difficult to work out how to best model the skin and suturing thread.
Initially I created a mesh similar to the GEL-membrane example and then created a long link of SkeletonNodes which resembles the thread. The problem is I do not know how to prevent the nodes from moving through each other. For example, if the thread is passed in between some skin nodes and pulled then the skin nodes should be deformed without the thread moving out of them when the forces gets stronger.
Does anyone have some advice on how best to approach this?
